threshold
10 is a new media art practice that explores how people engage
with architectural spaces. Using embedded projection, screen,
sound and light displays, sensors and surveillance technology,
we seek to create an augmented architecture of 'communication
spaces' - spaces that respond to and reflect the life of the people
who use them. These works are not straightforward artworks - they
are specifically developed to 'respond' to the environments in
which they are placed in ways that meet the 'impression objectives'
of the host. In this way we work with ideas and possibilities
that address the threshold spaces found within buildings and environments.
threshold
10 aims-
- To explore what happens, or could happen, as people move from
one physical space to another.
- To visually and interactively interpret that experience, using
predominantly interactive multimedia forms.
- To manipulate people's experiences of moving into physical spaces
using these forms.
- To develop a unique theoretical, visual and technical expertise
around this area.
- To position our work within both an international artistic and
scientific context.
